Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein has emphasized that Baghdad’s hosting of the upcoming Arab Summit presents a significant opportunity to elevate Iraq’s standing and underscore its role in advancing joint Arab initiatives.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hussein chaired the fifteenth meeting focused on the preparations for the Arab Summit, set to take place in Baghdad on May 17. The session aimed to evaluate the progress of final arrangements necessary for the successful execution of this pivotal event.

The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted the presence of several key figures at the meeting, including Minister of Planning Mohammed Tamim, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazi, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi, alongside representatives from various ministries and government bodies.

Discussions during the meeting centered on the proposed agenda, with particular attention given to organizational, security, and logistical plans. This included preparations for welcoming the participating delegations and coordinating technical and media-related aspects of the summit.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the necessity of strengthening collaboration among all concerned entities to achieve optimal readiness, reiterating that Baghdad’s leadership in hosting the summit is a chance to reinforce Iraq’s regional influence and its commitment to collective Arab action.

Participants stressed the importance of finalizing all preparations within the designated timeline to ensure the summit’s success, characterized by effective coordination and exemplary organization.
