Basra: A technical delegation from the ASRY shipyard in Bahrain visited Iraqi ports to inspect marine units for rehabilitation. This visit is part of a joint technical cooperation effort, aiming to prepare the vessels for a return to service.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Manager of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, emphasized the importance of maintaining and rehabilitating marine vessels to enhance operational capabilities and improve the efficiency of the Iraqi naval fleet. He highlighted that collaboration with reputable regional companies plays a crucial role in advancing the technical performance of the maritime sector.

The inspection covered various marine vessels and units, including the Karbala, Kufa, Maqal, Umm Qasr, and Saif Al-Karrar drilling rigs, along with the Aba Dhar marine crane and the Siba tanker. An expanded technical meeting was also held, involving the visiting team and representatives from the General Company for Iraqi Ports. Discussions focused on technical aspects of rehabilitation operations and addressed inquiries from the Bahraini team regarding detailed inspections.

The Bahraini team is set to conduct a field visit to the marine units tomorrow, following a work program coordinated with the relevant departments of the General Company for Iraqi Ports.
