Baghdad The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, presented a bill to “recover the proceeds of corruption” and hold the corrupt accountable and bring them to justice.
Salih, affirmed that the law on recovering the proceeds of corruption includes pre-emptive and deterrent measures, and subsequent steps to recover the money of corruption.
The President of the Republic confirmed that the volume of corruption is estimated at $ 150 billion, which was smuggled with deals abroad.
Salih called for the formation of an international anti-corruption coalition, modeled on the international coalition against ISIS.
He said in a televised speech that corruption is the political economy of violence, and both serve and perpetuate one another.
