Erbil: The head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna al-Samarrai, and his accompanying delegation met with the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, on Saturday at the Salah al-Din resort in Erbil. During the meeting, the bilateral relations and the importance of coordination and joint action between the parties in the Iraqi political process were highlighted.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Samarrai discussed with Barzani a number of important national issues and ways to enhance cooperation between the political forces to ensure the country's stability and support the requirements of the next phase. He began the meeting by congratulating Barzani, the party leadership, and its cadres on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the party's founding, expressing appreciation for the party's progress and its role in consolidating the values of freedom and national partnership.

Al-Samarrai explained that they discussed the paths of national partnership and unifying efforts to confront the challenges facing Iraq. He stressed the importance of constructive dialogue and prioritizing the language of understanding in addressing outstanding issues between the central government and the region, in a way that preserves Iraq's unity and enhances the path of development and stability.

It is noteworthy that the meeting between al-Samarrai and Barzani coincides with the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Additionally, al-Samarrai met yesterday, Friday, with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, accompanied by members of the Tafawuq electoral list, part of the Azm Alliance, and in the presence of Education Minister Ibrahim Namis al-Jubouri. Al-Samarrai and the members of the Azm Alliance emphasized the need for effective participation by all segments of society in the elections and the government's support for the Electoral Commission's procedures to ensure the success of the electoral process, so that the results truly reflect the opinion of the Iraqi people.
