Basra: The Basra Agriculture Directorate engaged in discussions with representatives from the International Trade Center (ITC) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) to explore avenues for supporting and developing the agricultural sector within the governorate, as well as to strengthen cooperative efforts.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Basra Agriculture Director Hadi Hussein Qasim highlighted the importance of adopting modern technologies and learning from successful global experiences to boost Iraq's agricultural practices and productivity. He emphasized the necessity of backing the Agriculture Directorate's projects and offering specialized training programs to employees to improve their technical and administrative capabilities, thereby achieving the developmental goals set for advancing the agricultural sector both scientifically and practically.
The representatives from the international organizations expressed their satisfaction with the ideas and proposals discussed. They affirmed their commitment to ongoing coordination with the Basra Agriculture Directorate, aiming for collaborative efforts to bolster agricultural initiatives and foster sustainable development in the governorate.
