Basra and Khorramshahr Universities of Marine Sciences and Technology discuss joint cooperation

Basra- The University of Basra and Khorramshahr University of Marine Sciences and Technology discussed joint cooperation.

The Director General of the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajeel, said, “During the meeting, a number of matters were agreed upon that serve both parties, including cooperation in the field of fish and shrimp farming by visiting specialists at the University of Khorramshahr and the University of Basra to review the center’s projects related to farming and to provide advice on how to develop it, and cooperate in the field of bathymetry survey of the Shatt al-Arab and the Gulf, and exchange scientific consultations to protect the marine and coastal environment.”

He added: There was also discussion about a mechanism for joint cooperation that includes holding specialized training courses in the field of important software, such as the use of the mathematical model (Coherence) and scientific diving courses to develop skills and exchange scientific and practical experiences between the two parties, as well as the completion of joint scientific projects in specializations concerned with studying biodiversity and te nature of seabeds and others.

Shaker continued: It was also discussed to benefit from scientific and technical capabilities, laboratory services, logistical equipment, and optimal exploitation of scientific equipment to conduct analyzes and examinations between the two universities.

He pointed out that an official invitation was sent to researchers from the Iranian University of Khorramshahr to publish their research in the scientific journals affiliated with the center for free, and to involve those with specializations and academic degrees from the university as evaluators and members of the editorial board of the center’s journals. / End
