Basra: The Chairman of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf Lafta Al-Badran, engaged in discussions with the Chinese Consul, Chen Bi Zhong, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Basra and China.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting emphasized expanding partnerships in sectors such as economic, trade, and energy. The discussion highlighted leveraging China's expertise to support development and service projects within Basra province. Al-Badran reiterated the council's dedication to broadening cooperation, particularly in infrastructure projects, addressing the water crisis, desalination initiatives, and advancing the education and health sectors. He also underscored the strategic significance of the Development Road and Grand Faw Port projects, pointing out China's potential involvement in these initiatives.
