Basra: The Deputy Chairman of the Basra Provincial Council, Osama Abdul-Ridha Al-Saad, met with the Commander of the Naval Force, Major General Hisham Taher Hammadi, to discuss the latest developments in the security situation and ways to enhance security and stability in Basra Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Saad stated that the meeting addressed joint cooperation and the possibility of the local government providing the necessary support to the Naval Force to contribute to developing the capabilities of the units deployed within Iraq’s territorial borders. He highlighted that several projects requiring the Provincial Council’s support and the allocation of necessary funds for their implementation were presented. The focus was on equipping the units with boats, advanced equipment, and other resources to boost the Naval Force’s capabilities.

Al-Saad expressed the local government’s readiness to provide all types of support and assistance to the Naval Force, praising its history and its honorable role in protecting the people of Iraq and defending the country’s territorial borders.
