Basra: Basra Crime Control Department, in a swift and qualitative security operation, arrested a thief who had carried out a robbery of a residential building in Al-Awja area within the Abu Al-Khaseeb district.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Basra Police Command stated in a statement: “Detachments moved immediately upon receiving the information and went to the scene of the incident, where it was found that the crime resulted in the theft of a sum of money, gold jewelry, and a motorcycle.”

The statement added: “With precise field efforts and rapid investigations, the detachments succeeded in identifying the thief, tracking him down, and arresting him within a few hours of the crime, a security achievement that reflects the high level of preparedness and professionalism in dealing with such cases.”

The statement indicated that the necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, in preparation for his referral to the judiciary.
