Basra: The Ministry of Interior announced the successful seizure of 170 kg of Captagon pills and the dismantling of a drug trafficking network in Basra today, Sunday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this operation was carried out following judicial decisions issued by the Central Investigation Court in Rusafa. The ministry stated that the operation dealt a significant blow to international drug traffickers, inflicting heavy losses within the framework of the national anti-drug campaign. The General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs, alongside a specialized team from the Special Investigations Department, orchestrated the operation based on directives from the Director General of Narcotics Affairs. This effort resulted in the arrest of four drug traffickers, including one foreign national, and the dismantling of their international network.

The ministry further emphasized that the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs continues to target additional drug networks across various governorates, demon
strating unwavering resolve in combating drug trade within Iraqi society.
