Basra: Basra Governor, Asaad Al-Eidani, discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Nicol² Fontana, during their meeting today, ways to enhance joint cooperation between Basra Governorate and the Italian government in the economic, investment, and service sectors.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Governor's Media Office stated that the meeting discussed opportunities for Italian companies to participate in infrastructure and reconstruction projects, particularly in the water, electricity, and transportation sectors. The discussions also included supporting training programs and exchanging expertise in the technical and engineering sectors.
During the meeting, Al-Eidani emphasized the local government's commitment to providing a safe and attractive investment environment for foreign companies. Ambassador Fontana expressed his country's readiness to expand cooperation with Basra, which would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Italy in various fields.
