Basra Governor Reports Evacuation of Foreign Workers Due to Security Concerns

Basra: Basra Governor, Engineer Asaad Al-Eidani, has reported that certain countries have evacuated their citizens from companies operating in the province over security concerns. This move comes amidst fears that the presence of these foreign workers in Iraq is perceived as a threat.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Eidani explained that the evacuations are linked to sympathies with Iran in its ongoing conflict with the United States. The perception is that these companies, located on the outskirts of Basra, are associated with American and other interests, making them potential targets for those aligning with Iran.

The governor emphasized that his administration is committed to securing the internal environment within Basra and safeguarding the institutions operating in the province. He expressed his hope for a resolution to the conflict between Tehran and Washington, aiming for Iraq to remain stable and untouched by regional tensions.
