Baghdad: The Palace of Culture and Arts in Basra, in collaboration with the Thaghr Al-Fayhaa Foundation and Shanshal Mall Radio, organized a dialogue session titled “From the Pulse of Ashura: The Family from Event to Reality,” marking the anniversary of the Battle of Karbala.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the session was led by writer Mohammed Jassim Al-Muhammadawi, who highlighted the portrayal of family unity during the Battle of Karbala. He discussed how the values of altruism and sacrifice were evident throughout the battle, serving as a lasting model for family and societal bonds.
Guest speaker, lawyer Hassanein Mohammed Hadi Al-Moussawi, explored the human dimension of the Battle of Karbala, noting that it exemplified noble values of family cohesion, patience, and steadfastness amid significant events.
Basim Hussein Ghalab, Director of the Palace of Culture and Arts in Basra, emphasized the role of cultural institutions and civil society organizations in commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. He highlighted their importance in showcasing the cultural and human aspects of the historic event and in embedding its values in society.
The session also featured contributions from attendees who discussed the significance of fostering family relationships based on the principles exemplified by the Battle of Karbala, which helps prevent family disintegration and reinforces the values of cohesion and solidarity.
