BASRA: Representatives from Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar convened in Basra to discuss the economic feasibility of the Development Road Project. The meeting aimed to determine pivotal paths for the project's implementation under the Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was held under the directives of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi. The Iraqi delegation was led by Nasser Al-Asadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister, with participation from Qatar's Advisor to the Land Transport Sector, Ramzi Muhammad Al-Assar, and UAE's Undersecretary of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Youssef Abdullah Ali. Turkey also sent a high-level delegation to the talks. The objective of the meeting was to finalize the economic feasibility study and establish the critical pathways necessary for the project's successful execution. The Development Road Project, a significant regional tra nsport initiative, aims to connect the East to the West via Iraq's Grand Faw Port. The Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding was initially signed in Baghdad last April, under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The agreement involves collaborative efforts from Iraq, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE to set the frameworks for implementing this strategic transportation project.
