Basra International Airport Sees Surge in Passenger Traffic Amid Nationwide Airport Closures


Basra: Basra International Airport is witnessing a significant increase in the number of passengers arriving from various governorates, amid the closure of Iraqi airports due to the current circumstances.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the airport’s media stated in a statement: “The airport continues to operate at full capacity, receiving passengers daily amidst high-level organization and providing all services. It is the only air port open to families and expatriates. Despite this noticeable congestion, passenger traffic was managed smoothly and accurately, with no delays to flight schedules.”



It added: “The airport staff, in all its departments, contributes to providing a comfortable environment for passengers, as employees continue to work long hours to provide support and assistance.” It explained: “Waiting halls have been equipped with food, water, and amenities, in addition to providing continuous guidance and organizational services to ensure the comfort of passengers and meet their needs.”



It pointed out that Basra International Airport continues to perform with high efficiency, emphasizing its ability to operate under various circumstances.
