Basra Operations Commander Discusses Enhancing Cooperation with Journalists to Ensure a Safe Media Environment


Basra: The Commander of Basra Operations, Lieutenant General Saad Mohsen Al-Araibi, met today in his office with the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate branch in Basra, Sadiq Al-Ali, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between security forces and media institutions in order to serve the public interest and reinforce community security.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Ali praised the efforts of the Operations Command in providing a safe environment for journalists, enabling media institutions to carry out their duties with freedom and transparency. He emphasized the importance of unifying media discourse to enhance public trust and reduce misinformation.



For his part, Lieutenant General Al-Araibi affirmed that journalism is “the eye through which we see,” stressing that there are no restrictions on the work of the media. On the contrary, he said, the media plays a vital role in conveying accurate information to the public. He pointed out that the Operations Command, through its security plans, has significantly contributed to curbing negative phenomena, particularly rumors that could destabilize the province.



He reiterated the command’s commitment to providing full support to members of the press, enabling them to fulfill their mission with the highest standards of professionalism and responsibility.
