Basra: A suspect was arrested in Basra for fraud and selling plots of land that did not belong to him. Basra police apprehended a man accused of fraudulent activities, specifically selling residential plots of land under false pretenses to an unsuspecting citizen.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Police Command announced in a press release that officers from the Al-Ashar police station captured the suspect under Article (457) of the Penal Code. The suspect allegedly engaged in a fraudulent operation, where he sold residential plots of land despite lacking ownership rights, and received a payment of 20 million Iraqi dinars for these transactions.

The arrest followed a thorough investigation process where the authorities verified the complaint details and collected necessary information to locate the suspect. Legal procedures have been initiated to address the charges, and the suspect has been referred to the judiciary for further action.
