Basra: The Basra Governorate Police Command has issued a statement concerning the death of a detainee at the Al-Hadi Police Station.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police explained that the detainee experienced a health crisis due to a pre-existing asthma condition. Despite being transferred to the hospital for medical attention, he unfortunately succumbed to his illness.

The statement further noted that all necessary legal and procedural steps have been taken. The relevant judicial authorities, as well as the deceased's family, have been informed. The family did not file a complaint, acknowledging the detainee's prior health issues.
