Basra Police Clarify the Circumstances of a Woman’s Death in a Bomb Explosion.

Basra: Basra Police Command issued a statement clarifying the death of a woman due to a hand grenade explosion. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police statement addressed reports from some media outlets about the woman's death, initially attributed to a hand grenade explosion in her home near the Turkish Consulate in Basra Governorate. However, the police clarified that the incident occurred due to the detonation of a detonator from old war remnants in the outdoor garden of a residential building located in the Basra area, Al-Wafoud Street, behind the Turkish Consulate. This explosion resulted in the woman's death. The statement further explained that the Basra Police Station promptly took the necessary legal and investigative measures in response to the incident. In their communication, the police command urged media outlets to ensure the accuracy of their reports and verify information through official sources to avoid causing public confusion. They emphasized their commitment to providing accurate information to citizens through official channels.
