Because of climate change, the United Nations: Humanity faces mass suicide

Baghdad The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, warned on Monday that the raging fires in Europe and other continents in the world, in addition to severe heat waves, indicate that humanity is facing a “mass suicide”.

“Half of humanity is in the danger zone, from floods, desertification, extreme storms and fires,” Guterres said in Germany to ministers from 40 countries meeting to discuss the climate crisis and global warming.

Guterres added: No country will be immune from disaster, however, as we continue to satiate our addiction to fossil energy.

He emphasized: We have a choice. Either mass action or mass suicide. It’s up to us.

Many European regions are witnessing a heat wave that scientists say is due to climate change, in which temperatures have risen to more than 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, with forest fires breaking out in dry rural areas in Portugal and Spain.
