Biden declassifies intelligence about the origins of the Coronavirus

US President Joe Biden issued a law declassifying intelligence information about possible links between Covid-19 and a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

In a statement, Biden stressed the need to find the origin of COVID-19, “including possible links with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

He added, “My Administration will lift the secrecy and publish as much information as possible.”

The US House of Representatives, where the majority is Republican, unanimously approved the bill after broad consensus with the Democrats.

The pandemic had caused a major rift between the two major parties in the United States, whether about vaccination or prevention measures.

And this March, FBI Director Christopher Ray said that it was “very likely” that the cause of the pandemic was a leak from a laboratory in Wuhan, two days after a similar hypothesis presented by the US Department of Energy.

This statement prompted the World Health Organization to ask all countries to share the information they possess about the origin of Covid-19.
