Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced on Saturday the implementation of a large-scale security campaign in the capital, Baghdad, targeting Arab and foreign workers violating residency regulations and conditions, as part of its measures to ensure security and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the campaign was executed under the directives of Operations Commander Walid al-Tamimi. It involved the participation of Baghdad/Rusafa Police Command, the Federal Police Forces Command, units of the Intelligence Agency, and the Civil Status Directorate.

The command stated that the agencies involved initiated the process by auditing the conditions of Arab and foreign workers, focusing on prosecuting those who violate residency regulations and conditions, as well as individuals entering the country without official entry visas.

The campaign led to the arrest of 738 violators, and appropriate legal measures were subsequently taken against them.
