Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested a man accused of throwing a hand grenade at his family’s home in Al-Baladiyat district, east of the capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a press release that a force from the 1st Federal Police Division apprehended the suspect, who allegedly used a hand grenade against his family’s residence due to ongoing family issues.
The statement further revealed that the grenade detonated during the incident, resulting in injuries to the man himself. In addition to the grenade, authorities confiscated two RPG launchers and one rocket-propelled grenade cartridge from his possession.
The statement concluded by noting that the injured man was transported to Al-Shaheed Al-Sadr Hospital, where he remains under guard. The confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities to proceed with the necessary legal procedures.
