BOC Initiates Security Sweep in Seven Baghdad Areas


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced on Sunday the launch of a security operation in seven areas of the capital. The command stated that the initiative aims to enhance security and ensure the safety of citizens across these regions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation involves cordoning off and searching the areas of Sha’ura Umm Jadr, Al-Baladiyat, Al-Wardiya, Al-Ghazaliya, Al-Amiriya, Southern Taji Beach, and Al-Rakub. These efforts encompass both sides of Karkh and Rusafa districts. The operation targets pursuing outlaws, executing judicial arrest warrants, and raiding unlicensed weapons dens.



The security operation is being conducted by units from the 17th Infantry Division, along with the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Federal Police Divisions. They are receiving support from Baghdad Police Commands of Karkh and Rusafa, as well as the intelligence agencies associated with them.
