Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command on Thursday reaffirmed that the use of excessive fireworks will not be permitted during New Year celebrations. In a statement, the command emphasized the ban on excessive fireworks due to the harm and disturbance they cause to citizens, as well as the risks they pose to public safety and property.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement called on citizens to adhere to approved instructions and procedures, and to express joy and celebration in civilized and safe ways that help maintain public security and tranquility. It also warned that legal measures will be taken against violators, in order to ensure the safety of all.
