Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced the outcome of the security operation in “Al-Basateen” neighborhood and four other areas on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa. The command said in a statement, “Under the field supervision of the Lieutenant General, Commander of Operations, the Baghdad Operations Command is embarking on large-scale security operations to search and inspect the region, review the foreign labor file, and execute judicial arrest warrants in the areas of Al-Basateen, Al-Zafaraniya, Al-Madain, and Al-Nahrawan neighborhoods, as well as al-Mahmoudiya district, on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, these operations resulted in the arrest of 60 suspects under various legal provisions, including those who have unlicensed weapons in their possession, and 24 foreigners in violation of the terms and conditions of the Residency and Citizenship Department. A number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition were also seized. The statement continued, “These operations have been carried out by the forces of the two divisions (the 17th Infantry Division and the 1st and 5th Federal Police Divisions) and Baghdad Rusafa Police Command, with the support of the intelligence agencies and agencies attached to them, to enhance security and stability and preserve the achieved security achievements.”
