Baquba: The body of a young man who drowned in the Diyala River was recovered by river police units from the Diyala Governorate Police Command. The recovery took place in the Al-Sudur area, located northeast of Baquba, the capital of the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the body was found and retrieved following extensive search and sweep operations conducted in the Al-Sudur area, near the main gates of the Diyala River. The operations were led by a dedicated team of river police units aiming to bring closure to this tragic incident.

The recovered body has been handed over to the relevant police station for the necessary legal procedures to be undertaken. The authorities are expected to continue their investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the drowning incident.
