Baghdad: The body of a young man was recovered from the Diyala River by river police units of the Diyala Police Command.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the young man, a resident of Baghdad, drowned while swimming near the Martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces Bridge, previously known as the Georgian Bridge. After hours of searching, a river police unit successfully located the body.
The body has been handed over to the forensic medicine department, and the necessary legal procedures have been initiated. Authorities emphasized the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and avoiding swimming in unsafe areas.
