Border Crossings: Trade with Syria via Al-Qaim Crossing Continues Normally

Al-qaim: The Border Crossings Authority announced today, Sunday, that trade with Syria via the Al-Qaim border crossing is continuing normally, in compliance with the procedures and regulations adopted by the Iraqi government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated that trade with Syria through Al-Qaim is ongoing, adhering to the established procedures and regulations to ensure the smooth flow of trade and safe passage.

The statement further indicated that the Border Crossings Authority has confirmed the resumption of passenger traffic through the border crossing following its official reopening on June 14 of this year. The crossing is now fully operational with all necessary staff and service facilities in place. This development aims to ease the travel burden on Iraqi citizens, facilitating their return to and departure from the country, while also boosting economic activity by creating job opportunities for workers, truck drivers, and bus drivers.

The statement concluded by highlighting that this initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen economic cooperation between Iraq and Syria and to increase trade between the two nations.
