Trabzon: Brazilian international Fabinho arrived in Trabzon, northern Turkey, to join Trabzonspor, where he will play alongside Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, his former teammate at Liverpool.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Brazilian midfielder expressed his happiness at the move to the Turkish club, emphasizing his eagerness to quickly get to know his teammates, the coaching staff, the fans, and the city. Upon his arrival at Trabzon Airport, Fabinho said, “I am very happy. I want to meet my teammates, the coaching staff, our fans, and the city as soon as possible. It’s a great opportunity for me.”

The 32-year-old explained that he maintained his physical fitness during the period following the expiration of his contract with his previous club, noting that he continued his training under the supervision of a fitness coach. He added, “I prepared well and performed all the exercises perfectly. I will feel even better with group training. From now on, I will do my best to help the team.”

Fabinho confirmed that he will speak with his coach to determine his position and role on the pitch, emphasizing his readiness to give his best in any task assigned to him. He said, “We will sit down and talk with the coach to find out where he needs me, what I need to do, and what role he will assign me. Wherever that is, I will do my best for the team.”

The midfielder indicated that he hopes to utilize his extensive experience and leadership skills for the benefit of Trabzonspor, whether by winning back possession, contributing to the build-up of attacks, or leading his teammates on the field.

Throughout his professional career, Fabinho, whose full name is Fabio Henrique Tavares, has played for several clubs, most notably Fluminense in Brazil, Rio Ave in Portugal, Real Madrid in Spain, Monaco in France, Liverpool in England, and Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian player achieved remarkable success during his time with Liverpool, winning the Premier League title, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Fabinho will reunite with Mohamed Salah, who preceded him in the move to Trabzonspor, three years after their separation at Liverpool, where they played together between 2018 and 2023.
