Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naeem Al-Ghazi, has directed the timely resolution of land allocation for individuals covered under the Martyrs Foundation and Political Prisoners Foundation laws. This directive aims to complete all necessary procedures within a set timeframe, ensuring beneficiaries' rights are fully realized in accordance with legal regulations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ghazi chaired an expanded meeting which included the Head of the Political Prisoners Foundation, Walid Al-Sahlani, the Deputy Head of the Martyrs Foundation, Youssef Al-Aboudi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, Ali Abdul-Amir, and the Director-General of the State Real Estate Department, Alia Nizar. The meeting focused on reviewing the mechanisms for land allocation to those covered by the respective laws.
Al-Ghazi stressed the need to complete the census of the families of martyrs and political prisoners who have not yet received land plots in Baghdad and other provinces. He urged the relevant authorities to unify their efforts and expedite auditing and allocation procedures to adhere to established schedules.
The Secretary-General also highlighted the potential to allocate a percentage of land or housing units from the Council of Ministers' decision on the one million residential plots initiative to these beneficiaries. This aligns with the Prime Minister's commitment to the government program, emphasizing the care of families of martyrs and political prisoners in recognition of their sacrifices for the nation.
The meeting further explored a proposal to offer beneficiaries from Baghdad the choice of receiving alternative plots in other governorates. This proposal aims to address land scarcity in Baghdad, provide beneficiaries with more allocation flexibility, ensure fairness, and expedite the completion of the allocation process.
