Diwaniyah: The Diwaniyah Governorate Municipality has initiated a campaign aimed at clearing barricades and bale storage sites from several market areas to mitigate potential emergencies and fires. This effort comes in response to lessons learned from a recent incident in Kut.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Diwaniyah Municipality Director Haider Hamza emphasized the campaign’s objective to minimize fire hazards and ensure unobstructed access for fire trucks in case of emergencies. The initiative is being conducted by the Central Violations Division.

Hamza noted the involvement of a joint security force comprising various security agencies, highlighting the collaborative approach to addressing the safety concerns in the market areas. The campaign reflects a proactive measure to safeguard public safety and facilitate efficient emergency responses.
