Canadian Ambassador from Baghdad: We support Iraq in these areas

Baghdad, The Canadian government affirmed its support for Iraq in the field of environmental, as well as joint cooperation in the field of oil and gas through the rehabilitation of oil pipelines and the use of alternative energy.

The Canadian Ambassador to Baghdad, Gregory Galligan, said, during the activities of the “Second Oil and Gas Conference,” which kicked off today, Saturday, in Baghdad, that “Canada is working with Iraq in developing many areas, especially in the field of electronic governance, and millions of dollars have been invested to support the Iraqi economy.”

He added, “Iraq, through the development of its economy, supports empowering youth and fighting unemployment, as well as supporting education, especially for women,” noting that “Canada supports Iraq in the field of environmental treatments, as well as joint cooperation in the field of oil and gas.”

The ambassador considered, “Canada’s pioneering experience in the field of oil and gas extraction can be transferred to Iraq, especially in the field of emitted gases, exchange of experiences, rehabilitation of oil pipelines, use of alternative energy such as solar energy, and provision of Canadian expertise, especially in technological fields.”
