Baghdad:The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) has refuted claims that it issued an audit list concerning political figures.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the CBI stated that reports on certain news websites and social media platforms alleging that it had sought audits of the accounts of specific political figures are unfounded.
The bank emphasized that the information being circulated does not accurately represent its operations or institutional procedures. It urged media outlets and social media users to verify information, obtain it from official sources, and avoid spreading unverified news.
Furthermore, the CBI highlighted that its oversight and auditing procedures are part of its routine institutional duties and are carried out in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, without any political implications or motives.
