CENTCOM Collaborates with Syrian Forces in 80 Operations Against Terrorist Elements

Washington: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it conducted approximately 80 operations in cooperation with Syrian forces to eliminate terrorist elements, including those affiliated with ISIS.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, ISIS executed at least 11 plots or attacks against targets in the United States during the past year. In response, operations led by CENTCOM resulted in the detention of 119 terrorists and the killing of 14 others over the past six months, significantly hindering the organization's efforts to reconstitute itself.

CENTCOM also noted a significant operation carried out in Syria last September, which led to the death of a prominent ISIS leader, Omar Abdel Qader. Abdel Qader was reportedly in the process of planning attacks against the United States at the time of the raid.
