Baghdad:The Central Bank of Iraq announced an increase in the traveler’s allowance of cash dollars to $3,000, effective from tomorrow. This is an increase from the previous allowance of $2,000 and can be availed up to six times a year.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this change is aimed at addressing the needs of citizens for foreign currency while traveling abroad. The new allocation will be available starting Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and can be utilized once every two months, as per the regulatory mechanism and approved controls.

The Central Bank’s decision is intended to provide travelers with greater flexibility in meeting their expenses overseas and to ensure easier access to foreign currency through official and approved channels.
