London: Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidane, visited the British House of Lords today, Wednesday, and met with Baroness Emma Nicholson and a number of legal lords.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Supreme Judicial Council noted that Judge Zidane toured the council’s halls and learned about the nature of its work. During the meeting, he explained the nature of the Iraqi judiciary’s work, the complete independence regulated by the constitution, and the judiciary’s role in enforcing the rule of law.
