Anbar: Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah inspected the units of the 5th Infantry Division within the Anbar Operations Sector, accompanied by the Operations Assistant, the Commander of the Land Forces, the Assistant Director of Military Intelligence, and the Intelligence Secretary of the Army Chief of Staff.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the first stop of the Army Chief of Staff was a visit to the 74th Infantry Brigade Sector. During this visit, he surveyed the openness of the units, defense lines, and the hills that secure the border strip. The inspection aimed to assess the current state and readiness of the brigade’s defenses.
The second stop involved a visit to the 19th Infantry Brigade of the 5th Division, where Lieutenant General Yarallah received a detailed briefing on the brigade’s openness and its regiments’ positions on the borders separating the sector of responsibility. Discussions also covered fortifying strategic points and other administrative aspects related to the fighters.
Following these visits, the Chief of Staff conducted a tour to inspect various points and hills, focusing on their readiness and combat capabilities. This tour was part of ongoing efforts to ensure the effective operation and preparedness of the units stationed in this strategic area.
A statement from the Ministry of Defense confirmed that Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah arrived at the Al-Waleed border crossing, where he surveyed the Iraqi-Jordanian-Syrian triangle. He was accompanied by senior military officials, including the Operations Assistant and the Commander of the Land Forces, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts in securing the borders.
