Child’s Body Recovered from Euphrates River Near Hillah


Hillah: The river police of the Babylon Police Command have recovered the body of a 12-year-old child from the Euphrates River in the Musayyib Project area, north of Hillah.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Adel Al-Husseini, Director of Media for the Babylon Police, stated that the child drowned while swimming in the river. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, prompted an immediate response from the river police.



The police have transferred the child’s body to the forensic medicine department for further examination. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning has been initiated to determine the details of the incident.
