Washington:Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, near Washington, for the start of a three-day state visit. During this visit, US President Donald Trump will host Xi with elaborate ceremonial and protocol arrangements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump and his wife, Melania, received Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, with great warmth at the airport. This rare reception took place alongside the aircraft.

The welcoming ceremony featured a 21-gun salute and the playing of the national anthems of China and the United States.

President Xi voiced his confidence that China and the United States, as two major countries, are capable of finding the right way to coexist in the new era. He emphasized that both nations should work together to promote a stable relationship founded on cooperation, moderate competition, manageable differences, and a commitment to peace.
