Baghdad: Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Benkin Rikani discussed strengthening cooperation in the air transport sector with the European Union Delegation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority noted that Rikani met with Thomas Seiler, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Iraq. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for joint cooperation in the air transport sector.

Rikani highlighted the European Union’s role as a strategic partner for Iraq, emphasizing its potential to support efforts aimed at lifting the ban on Iraqi aviation at European and international airports. He reiterated Iraq’s dedication to enhancing aviation safety standards and complying with international requirements to restore the global standing of Iraqi aviation.
