Baghdad: The Ministry of Oil issued a clarification regarding reports circulating in some media outlets about Iraqi crude oil exports reaching 4 million barrels per day.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry confirmed in a statement that this quantity was recorded for only one day of exports, as a result of the State Oil Marketing Company exporting a quantity of crude oil outside the Strait of Hormuz. The tanker was loaded with Qayyarah crude oil, in addition to other quantities loaded for export and sale at the southern ports, as well as quantities exported from the northern outlet, which are loaded according to the loading schedule based on the availability of economically viable quantities for tanker transport.

The ministry also confirmed that the average daily export rate of Iraqi crude oil during September, up to the date of this statement, reached approximately 2.6 million barrels per day, subject to change based on the quantities expected to be exported in the remaining days of this month. This is in itself a significant achievement for the ministry, given the current circumstances and the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This reflects the Ministry of Oil’s commitment to maintaining export operations at the highest possible volume to generate the necessary revenue for the country’s public treasury.
