Baghdad: The Industrial Council at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, recently convened a meeting led by Dean Ammar Taher Mohammed. In attendance were the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, department heads, unit and division leaders, and media institution representatives. The primary focus of the meeting was the enhancement of academic programs to better align with labor market demands.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the council reviewed a set of proposed learning outcomes from the Committee of Expert Advisors for Colleges of Media. These proposals aim to ensure that graduates possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and professional competencies to succeed in the evolving media landscape.
Furthermore, the council evaluated several suggestions for updating curricula and course content. Various observations and recommendations were made to enhance the practical and professional components of the programs, thereby strengthening their relevance to media institutions' requirements.
The meeting underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between the College of Media and the media industry.
