Baghdad: Officially documented, the Joint Operations Command has been abolished and merged into a single formation known as the “Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.” This strategic reorganization was decreed by Commander-in-Chief Ali al-Zaidi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the newly established office will have overarching control, overseeing the Ministries of Defense and Interior. It will also supervise the security services, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Border Ports Authority, and the Military Industrialization Authority. All related bodies and formations are now affiliated with this new entity, marking a significant shift in the structure of Iraq’s armed forces and security operations.
