Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has mandated the establishment of a higher committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding an incident at an agricultural department located in the Karkh side of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Operations Command released a statement revealing that the incident transpired at a Ministry of Agriculture department and was accompanied by significant repercussions. The Commander-in-Chief directed the formation of a higher investigative committee to ascertain the details of the event, particularly focusing on the unauthorized movement of armed forces. The forces reportedly attempted to seize control of a government building and opened fire on security personnel without proper orders or approvals.

The statement further noted that security forces successfully apprehended 14 suspects. Upon verifying their identities, it was determined that the individuals were part of the 45th and 46th brigades of the Popular Mobilization Forces. These suspects have been referred to the judiciary, and appropriate legal actions have been initiated against them.
