Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali al-Zaidi, has directed the posthumous promotion of Brigadier General Hisham Tala’a and Private Khalid Lafteh, acknowledging their sacrifices in the line of duty. According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi, who also serves as the Prime Minister, issued two decrees that elevate Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Tala’a to a higher rank and promote Private Khalid Abbas Lafteh to Lieutenant. This decision honors their ultimate sacrifices in upholding law and order.
The Security Media Cell highlighted that these promotions serve as an appreciation for the bravery exhibited by the two martyrs while executing their duties to enforce the law and maintain security in the Dora district, south of Baghdad. Their dedication and valor have set exemplary standards of loyalty and courage.
The statement further emphasized the commitment of the General Command of the Armed Forces to support the families of martyrs and to commemorate the courageous deeds of military and security personnel across all branches. It underscored that the sacrifice of the martyrs will continue to be a protective shield for the nation, illuminating the path of service and sacrifice to ensure the country’s security and uphold the law.
