Baghdad: The Construction and Development Coalition renewed its support on Sunday for the anti-corruption campaign and the state’s monopoly on weapons. It also affirmed its commitment to enacting the package of laws submitted by its parliamentary bloc and to working on passing priority legislation that directly impacts citizens’ lives.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Construction and Development Coalition stated that an expanded meeting was held, chaired by the head of the coalition, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. During this meeting, the latest developments in the political scene and the general situation in the country were discussed, as well as the organizational files of the parliamentary bloc.

The statement highlighted that the meeting approved the parliamentary bloc’s internal regulations and elected a bloc leader, two deputy leaders, a rapporteur, and an official spokesperson. This organizational step aims to enhance parliamentary work efficiency, solidify institutional performance, and contribute to developing decision-making mechanisms.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the legislation of the laws submitted by its parliamentary bloc and focusing on enacting priority legislation that impacts citizens’ lives. This includes efforts to strengthen economic development, improve service levels, and consolidate social stability, aligning with the current stage’s requirements and public aspirations.

Additionally, the coalition reiterated its support for governmental and judicial measures against administrative and financial corruption, in accordance with constitutional and legal provisions. This support aims to strengthen the rule of law, preserve judiciary independence, enshrine accountability principles, and ensure justice free from politicization, selectivity, or discrimination.

The coalition also affirmed its backing for the state’s exclusive right to use force, the authority of constitutional institutions, adherence to independent national decision-making, and the aim to end any foreign presence on Iraqi soil. These efforts are intended to achieve full state sovereignty over Iraq’s land, airspace, and territorial waters, in line with the constitution and applicable laws.
