Baghdad: Confiscated medicines, nutritional supplements, and other contraband materials were seized in the air cargo section at Baghdad International Airport. The General Authority of Customs announced the seizure of medicines, nutritional supplements, and other contraband materials at the air cargo terminal of Baghdad International Airport.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated that detachments of the General Authority of Customs, represented by the Air Cargo Customs Center at Baghdad International Airport, in cooperation and coordination with the National Security Service, seized a shipment containing medicines, nutritional supplements, and other contraband materials. This seizure was part of the inspection and auditing procedures carried out by customs personnel to enhance control over goods entering the country.

The seizure followed an inspection using sonar equipment, in coordination with a representative of the National Security Service. The inspection resulted in the confiscation of 110 pieces of nutritional supplements, a 5 kg carton of cornflakes, 7 kg of vitamin C supplements, and 130 boxes of human medications. A formal seizure report was prepared in the presence of representatives from relevant authorities to take the necessary legal measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The General Authority of Customs affirmed its continued commitment to carrying out its oversight duties in cooperation with security agencies and supporting bodies, contributing to preventing the entry of contraband, enhancing border security, and protecting the national economy and the safety of citizens.
