Coordination Between Federal Forces and Peshmerga Key to Iraq’s Stability


Baghdad:Farhad Atroushi, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, emphasized that protecting Iraq’s sovereignty and citizen security is a shared national responsibility. Continued coordination between federal forces and the Peshmerga is crucial to addressing common challenges and ensuring stability.



According to the National Iraqi News Agency, Atroushi made this statement on Sovereignty Day. He highlighted the critical security phase Iraq faces, coinciding with the end of the international coalition’s mission, which requires strengthening national capabilities and enhancing coordination among various institutions and security forces.



He reiterated that cooperation between federal forces and the Peshmerga is essential in confronting security threats and promoting stability. Building state institutions according to the constitution and maintaining balance, particularly within the security and military sectors, is seen as the most vital guarantee for a stable and prosperous Iraq.
