Baghdad: The Coordination Framework held its 295th regular meeting on Sunday evening at the office of the Head of the Nahj Al-Watani Alliance, Dr. Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi, in the presence of Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, to discuss the latest developments on the national and regional fronts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the issue of completing the government formation. Participants stressed the need to expedite the filling of the remaining vacant positions in accordance with standards of competence and integrity and in line with national requirements, in order to ensure the regular functioning of state institutions.

The meeting also reviewed the work of the subcommittees formed within the Coordination Framework. Participants emphasized the importance of activating their roles, defining their responsibilities and timelines, and submitting regular reports to the Framework’s leadership body.

The participants were also briefed by the Prime Minister on the outcome of his recent visit to a number of European countries and the understandings reached during the visit. They commended efforts aimed at strengthening Iraq’s international relations, diversifying its partnerships, and attracting investment.

The meeting further discussed preparations for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to New York to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly. Participants stressed the importance of conveying Iraq’s position on preserving its sovereignty and rejecting interference in its internal affairs, supporting regional security and stability, and highlighting the progress achieved in reconstruction and development, as well as Iraq’s openness to the international community.

The participants affirmed the continued unity and cohesion of the Coordination Framework’s political forces and their commitment to strengthening coordination in a manner that safeguards the constitutional process and preserves political stability. They also renewed their support for the government in carrying out its duties and implementing its governmental program.
