Coordination Framework: The selection of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives will take place at this time

Baghdad – The Coordinating Framework revealed the timing of choosing his candidate for the position of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, to succeed Hakim Al-Zamili, who submitted his resignation with the Sadrist bloc MPs last month.

The MP of the Al-Fateh Alliance, which is part of the coordination framework, Abdul-Amir Al-Mayahi, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “the nomination of the candidate for the position of the first deputy speaker of Parliament, has not been included in the meetings of the coordination framework so far, due to the preoccupation with the file of forming the government and choosing a candidate for the position of prime minister, for the purpose of holding a session to elect the President of the Republic and assign the Prime Minister during the current week.

He added, “There is no disagreement within the forces and blocs of the coordination framework over the position of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, but the current priority is to resolve the file of forming the new government in the coming days.”

On the Kurdish candidate for the post of President of the Republic, he explained that “we were informed that the Kurdish leaders will meet in the coming hours to resolve the file of the President of the Republic.”
